Vivu Journeys is a Destination Management Company (DMC) with operations in Europe and Asia and are a part of Thien Minh Group (TMG) – a leading travel & hospitality business offering 4 different pillars within travel; DMC, Hotels and cruises – we own more than ten hotels and several river and sea boats with plans to expand our assets as we move into these new markets; Airlines, we own 3 seaplanes that operate in our homeland Vietnam; Online – As one of Vietnam’s most successful Online travel Agents, we are industry leaders in technology, developed inhouse.
Vivu Journeys operates all aspects of touring in our operating countries on behalf of our tour operator and travel agent customers, including hotel bookings, transfers and transport, meals and guided touring. Due to rapid expansion, we are seeking additional tour guides to work for us.
POSITION PURPOSE
Our Tour Guides will be the face, heart and soul of our business, guiding and assisting our guests around Vietnam. Working within the operations team our Tour Guides will work on a casual freelance basis initially, with the potential for part time and full-time roles to be offered to the best guides as our company grows. Tour Guides will be running tours and experiences that we have curated in house through our product team and that have been built around our culture of health, kindness and growth.
MAJOR TASKS
Lead tours and experiences around Vietnam
Always greet all guests promptly and be punctual
Delivering a unique, personalized experience to each guest
Clearly and articulately provide information to guests in an engaging manner
Demonstrate excellent knowledge of subject matter and area of guiding
Remain calm, friendly, and enthusiastic always
Deescalate any tension around any challenges
Know all safety and security protocols, should they be needed
Ability to think and act quickly to change itinerary as required, for example in the case of bad weather
Maintaining operational viability
Providing feedback and suggested improvements to the operations and product teams
Addressing any issues or concerns from guests in a timely and effective manner
QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 6 months guiding experience
Good command of both written and spoken English
High degree of customer service and satisfaction
University graduates
Excellent communication skills
The ability to engage with a wide range of people
A natural hunger for knowledge and learning
A calm, customer focused manner
Confident
Fluent in written and spoken English
A second language is desirable, but not mandatory
Flexible and able to work with uncertainties and changing priorities
Ability to problem solve and make decisions
Multi-tasking
Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills across a variety of cultures
A self-starter able to work independently
Ability to work outside normal office hours
Customer centric with commitment to high standards of service delivery
High attention to detail & strong time/priority management skills
Hungry – self-motivated and diligent, constantly thinking about the next step and the next opportunity.
Humble – quick to point out the contributions of others, share credit, emphasize team over self and define success collectively rather than individually.
Knowledge of guiding certain parts of Vietnam
